Nice page. Engineers suffered the highest casulty rate amoung all branches
during WW2. My father, Arthur O. Block was an Engineer with the 329th,
5th Engineer Special Brigade, landing on Ohmaha at 10:30 6-6-44. In Sept.
'44 he was reassigned to the 104th Div. (Timberwolves). After the war he
"liberated a german "fraulein" and they've been together for 50 years!!
If anyone has info regarding the 5th ESB, please let me know. Nice to see
a site for Engineers!!

Great idea! Your captions are coming through but not the photographs.
Perhaps it's my machine. My father, Leigh E. Nokes was a member of the
150th. While in the Army, I was stationed in Germany as a member of the
275th Engineers (I am an engineer too!). I took some leave time and traced
my father's route from England through Czechoslavakia. I had maps and photos
to guide me. I took many pictures of the roads, bridges, and buildings
that the 150th worked on. In some places, the scen ry hasn't changed much!
When I returned stateside, I showed the pictures to my father and Dave
Joseph. They brought back a lot of powerful memories. I grew up listening
to all these stories about the 150th, it was a wonderful experience to
see it for m self. It provided me with a great appreciation for what my
dad and his buddies had accomplished. I look forward to sharing your web
site with my father. Thanks for the good work! Sincerely, Gary L. Nokes
