| In order to add a little history here, it was not easy
to find members to serve on the staff and also to perform diligently so
the Association would carry on, all members were working hard trying to
pay our taxes and put food on table for our families, so to find people
to spend extra time for the Association was not easy. Norman Cortis
was a great secretary during years. In 1972 1 wanted out of being
President and Norman Cortis wanted out of the secretary job, so we came
up the idea of switching positions, Norman became president and I became
secretary. I did this personally to make sure the Association stayed
together, being involved with the members and knowing how much work it
took to put on the earlier reunions, I was afraid after the 25th reunion
there would be a let-down in interest in the Association and there may
not be many more reunions. We are all so happy this did not happen.
I worked religiously keeping the address list up to date. During
these years I came to know a real "go getter", Herbert Spencer, who lived
only a few miles away, he kept me going with the 150th Association. He
was a tremendous buddy and I will miss him.
